Schooners Lobster Festival & Tournament
Every October, visitors and locals alike come together to enjoy the Schooners Lobster Festival and Tournament. This event is one of the biggest lobster festivals in the Sunshine State! You can come out and enjoy the festivities for an entire week, witnessing new events and activities every day.
Each day of the festival, you can come out and enjoy live music as you indulge in some of the area’s freshest and most delicious lobster. Throughout the week, you can also get involved in other events like a beach party, an auction, raffles, and more.
Of course, no lobster festival would be complete without lobster! Schooners has delectable and tempting lobster specials going on throughout the week, so you can let yourself indulge without breaking the bank.
Sand Sculpting Contest
One of the most famous and fascinating parts of Lobster Fest is the annual sand sculpting contest! Typically, this contest begins midway through the week on Wednesday. Professional sand sculptors will come from around the world to create incredible works of art using nothing more than the sand they find on the beach outside of Schooners.
Later in the week, there are additional sand sculpting contests, including one designed specifically for families! You can stick with a classic sandcastle, or you can try your hand at a more complex sculpture. Let your imagination run wild, and you might just come home with the grand prize!

When you leave Gulf Gate, you’ll first head southeast on Surf Drive toward Snapper Street. Turn left onto Snapper Street, then make a right onto C R 392/Thomas Drive. Follow the road for 2.2 miles before turning right onto Irwin Street. Then, make a left onto Gulf Drive, and Schooners will soon appear on the right.
