About the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam

Originally debuting across three days and six stages in September 2013, the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam was once just a Labor Day weekend event.

After the postponement of the 2020 Gulf Coast Jam because of the pandemic, 2021 boasted not one but two festivals. With 22,000 attendees, the show became the largest post-COVID music festival. And with better odds of nice weather during June, the Jam is now regularly held at the beginning rather than the end of summer.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in June 2022, an additional day was added to the festival, making it a four-day event starting on Thursday night. That year was headlined by Brooks & Dunn, Florida Georgia Line, Old Dominion, and Brett Young, and more than 20,000 people attended.

The inspiration for the Jam comes from concert producer Rendy Lovelady and Dave Trepanier, owner of the Firefly Restaurant in Panama City Beach. The two men brought the idea to the Bay County Tourist Development Council (TDC) in 2012. Trace Adkins joined Toby Keith, Brantley Gilbert, and The Charlie Daniels Band to headline the inaugural event, and thousands of people from all over the country attended.

The following year, even with two fewer stages than the four introduced in 2013, the show brought stars Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Randy Houser, Lonestar, and John Michael Montgomery along with more than 15,000 country music fans.

The show has continued to grow in ticket sales and revenue for the Panama City Beach area and draw major names in the country music business. The Jam will continue to deliver mind-blowing performances for a long time to come.

Lineup

The lineup for the 2024 Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam promises to be as stellar as shows past. One of the headliners for this year’s Jam is Morgan Wallen, who was slated for the 2023 event but dropped out. Wallen, who released his debut album in 2018 and whose 2021 album Dangerous: The Double Album sat for a record-setting (for a country album) seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list.

Jelly Roll is another headliner for the 2024 Jam. The Grammy-nominated (for Best New Artist, 2022) rapper/singer/songwriter from Tennessee, whose country releases have garnered three CMT Music Awards, burst onto the country scene in 2021 with this Grand Ole Opry debut. He won New Artist of the Year at the Country Music Associated Awards in November 2023.

Cody Johnson and Parker McCollum are also headlining the Gulf Coast Jam in 2024. Johnson, whose first major album was released in January 2019 and second album in October 2021 after six self-released works, has had top 40 hits. His song “Til You Can’t” won two Country Music Association awards in 2022.

McCollum, who debuted his album The Lonesome Kid in 2015 and released his first major-label album in 2021, has continued to make his name in country music. He writes much of his music and works with producer Jon Randall.

Other artists slated to appear in this year’s music festival include Russell Dickerson, Deana Carter, Heartland, Austin Snell, Corey Kent, Flatland Cavalry, Priscilla Block, and Kidd G.
